MOVIE REVIEW: INCEPTION (12A)

SLIDERS REVIEW:

As this film starts it lifts off from the screen and doesn’t lose turbulence until it finishes. Most films have not being able to accomplish that this year. This film doesn’t allow you to turn your brain to snooze because watching this film your mind will be fully alert as you try and keep up with this film as it goes deeper and deeper. The storyline of this film may confuse you at times but does sort of explain itself as you go along if you pay close attention.  Some people will want to watch this film twice thinking they have missed something or simply because they loved every moment of it. I don’t want to go into too much detail and spoil it for anyone who hasn’t seen this film yet but I recommend everyone to see this science fiction/action movie.

The acting in this film is top notch thanks to the leader of the pack/main actor Leonardo Di Caprio who plays Dominic Cobb aka“The Extractor”. Viewers will be able to relate to Leonardo Di Caprio’s characters mind frame especially some parents because his character is doing this last job in a bid to get back to his kids he hasn’t facially seen in a long time but only if he can pull of this mission. Throughout the film I saw how his family life affects his imaginations. The rest of the team consist of Arthur the point man (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), Eames the identity forger (Tom Hardy), Ariadne the architect (Ellen Page) & Yusuf the pharmacist (Dileep Rao).

The concept of travelling into a person’s mind through their dreams and putting in an idea should be intriguing for any viewer to want to see. The way the story pans out is simply genius so a well deserved round of applause to Director Christopher Nolan who also wrote the film. He has outdone himself on this one. Apart from the storyline, the stuff that makes this movie even more of a summer blockbuster is the special effects. The spinning rooms, crumbling buildings, folding cities all makes this a spectacular of a film. Being able to be in your dream and feel what’s happening to your real body is really a mind buzzing experience to watch. This film will top anyone’s list that are looking to watch a great film this summer. The use of slow motion is timed very well and close up shots do tell an amazing story. This film will be on top of the most discussed this year. Guaranteed.

MY STAR RATINGS OUT OF 5:    5+++++

ONE FAVOURITE MOMENT IN THE FILM:

I saw a T4 special of how the spinning fight scene was done. The Director Christopher Nolan is a type of director who doesn’t really like using the green screen’s for special effects so for this scene he had a whole set built. So the spinning corridor is real and not special effects. This has made the gravity fight scene of Arthur (Joseph Gordon Levitt) an iconic moment in the film.

(if you loved another moment in the film, please feel free to tell me in the comments)

SYNOPSIS:

A group of individuals who specialise in being able to steal an idea in someone’s mind through their dreams by using a special device.  This group is hired to go deeper than usual as their hired for a final job in which they must not steal an idea but plant one. If they succeed it would be the perfect crime.

  4. yeah i think the movie is as complicated as it is creative... as long as you follow the story line from detail to detail you won't go wrong .. evenn if you don't the action and fighting scenes are mad... i would defernately recommend it to peopl to watch fromplot dialogue everuthing about it makes u wanna figure out whats happen and keeps you watching... so i would give this movie 5/5 or 10/10 defernately a must see
