MOVIE REVIEW: GREEN LANTERN (12A) (2D) (3D)

"SHOULD HAVE BEEN MUCH BETTER"
++~
Green Lantern is an Action Crime Sci-Fi Superhero film Directed by Martin Campbell (same guy that brought us The Mask & Legend of Zorro). This film is about a test pilot who is granted a mystical green ring that gives him powers to do anything he imagines in his mind. He becomes a member of an intergalactic squadron who are tasked in keeping peace within the universe. It’s Starring Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Temuera Morrison, Jenna Craig, Jon Tenney, Mike Doyle, Gattlin Griffith, Nick Jandl, Dylan James & Leanne Cochran.
THE REVIEW:
DC Comics are back from the lab with a brand new superhero movie for the summer but I'm  disappointed to say it did not take its should have been rightful rank as one of the best films out this year. This is a summer jam packed with superheroes, its a shame this one is not going to be one to remember. Green Lantern fans might think they are in for a treat but apart from the CGI and already set storyline what does this Movie really have on offer? Don’t get me wrong its good it’s just not what I expected. There was no jaw dropping scenes, the story just seemed to run from start to finish too smoothly, when I thought the story was going to take a major & dramatic turn... it didn't. It’s very predictable, anyone can tell what’s going to happen before it does. Boring, limited entertainment. Most character chemistry is nowhere near believable, Jordan (Reynolds) & Sinestro (Strong) are the only interesting enough person on show, everything else was just Cliché central.

 The CGI is Green Lantern’s only selling point, the powers given to Hal Jordan are displayed brilliantly. His suit, imaginations and other characters looks are done very well (haven't said this THOR graphics were much better). There’s nothing about this film that’s sticks to mind enough to take away as a souvenir, I was expecting mind blowing scenes but it never delivered.
As for the 3D I feel like I was robbed because this film had about 5% of it. I wish i didn't waste my money and just watched it in 2D.

Ryan Reynolds as a Green Lantern? It’s hard to imagine this was the same guy in Two Guys a Girl & a Pizza Place all those years back on Trouble. It was hard to picture him as a superhero but he did look good on screen and played his part very well. Blake Lively is one sexy woman, her chemistry with Hal worked well. Peter Sarsgaard was an interesting person because of what was happening to him, I liked his character because of his powers and how he used them. The cast as whole was a hit & miss.
OVERALL: Good Not Great.
 STAR RATINGS OUT OF 5:  2.5
