MOVIE REVIEW: DEATH AT A FUNERAL (2010 REMAKE) (15)

SLIDER’S REVIEW:

I haven’t seen the English version of this film but this American version is just hilarious. The whole movie is set in one house and is jam packed with famous faces. Chris Rock produces the funny goods as usual and his acting skill is just as good. My star actor for this film will have to go to James Marsden as his character changes when he’s given the hallucinagenic drug by his girlfriend Zoe Saldana. He starts to do crazy things like strip naked, climb roof and sings even though he’s at a funeral. He places the cherry on top for me when he thinks the dead person in the coffin at the funeral is alive and manages to disrupt the service and open the casket which falls on the floor and body roll out on to the floor. The look of anger and surprise on everyone’s face told a thousand word and then some.
What I like about this comedy is that it went just a little bit more to be funny and it worked. Everytime they showed the Oscar character behaving oddly there was a repeat of this Jamaican instrumental that was playing. The beat was to represent his state of mind. I saw this film twice so if you want to haven’t seen this one then go see it. You’ll have a laugh.

MY STAR RATINGS OUT OF 5: 4++++~

ONE FAVOURITE MOMENT IN THE FILM:
Uncle Russell (Danny Glover) is being escorted to the bathroom by Norman (Tracy Morgan) and as they both reach the bathroom and Norman helps Uncle Russell on the toilet seat from his wheel chair. Norman is made to undo Uncle Russell trousers even though Norman totally declines. Norman was not quick enough to remove his hands before Uncle Russell starts to poo. Norman pulls his hands out only to have it back covered in poo. Norman starts to scream in disbelief and turn on the tap to wash in hands off. The water splashes everywhere and poo gets all over his face & shirt.

(If you loved another moment in the film, please feel free to tell me in the comments)

SYNOPSIS:
This comedy film directed by Neil LaBute is set in a day of an American family. They gather for a funeral of their beloved father. Everything from the start of the day goes wrong as shocking revelations unveil themselves and threatening behaviour at the funeral which leads to blackmail.
