"BASIC STORYLINE,
GOOD ACTION SCENES"

Immortals is a fantasy drama action film directed by Tarsem Singh (same guy that brought us The Fall, 2006). Theseus is a motal man chosen by Zeus to lead the fight against the ruthless King Hyperion, who is on a rampage across Greece to obtain a weapon that can destroy humanity. Its Starring Henry Cavill, Stephen Dorff, Luke Evans, Isabel Lucas, Kellan Lutz, Friedo Pinto, Mickey Rourke, John Hurt, Peter Stebbings, Joseph Morgan, Corey Seiver & Steve Byers.

THE REVIEW:
From the trailer this film looked like 300 Pt.2. Packed with action, greek gods, war and deaths. This is one of them must see films i wanted to watch just to see if the director could outdo 300.

After watching this film i can say its a good enough movie, although its like 300 its not better than it. I have to say the action scenes are well done, good graphics on show. Its your typical action war scenes. Swords swinging warriors all raring to go without a care of dieing. The entertainment value is there, the story is just very average. The blandness might be the reason some poeple will not like it. Some scenes are emphazized for no purpose and when Gods are fighting i want to feel their presence and be filled with awesomeness. The set, costumes and production is eyecatching, some people will say they look silly but i think they stands out. The frontman & hero Theseus (Cavill) does an amazing job, he just didnt have a brilliant story to back him. His presence was felt from the first time we see him on screen. He lead effortlessly.
This is far from a chick flick as it incorporates classical greek myths and trust me when i say Immortals is pumped with tostotorone throughout. Its good with the consistancy it keeps like the hunt & discovery of the Eprerius bow, but havent said that the hype surrounding the bow died as soon as it was recovered. I saw it in 3D and once again im wishing i didnt because it did not make much difference (suckered out of £1 for the glasses again -_-).
With some questionable fighting styles like Kung Fu displayed, the director had a hit & miss with what to choose for this film. The cast overall pull off great performances all round.  It looks like a serious film and in some sense it is. I think people will have different takes on it.
OVERALL: Worth A Watch.
STAR RATINGS OUT OF 5: 3.5

  1. It’s probably one of the best-looking films of the whole year (yet, I still haven’t seen Tree of Life) and the action is awesome and in-you-face which is something I always like. The story dragged on a bit and I couldn’t help but think that if the writing was a tweaked a little better, this would have definitely been a very solid film. Instead it was just fun and pretty to look at. Good review. Check out my site when you get the chance.
