THE REVIEW:
We have all been waiting for this film to surface, well i know most girls/women have been raring to see the next piece of Twilight footage. Months of speculations has come to a close and the finished product is here. The first of the two part of the final installment.
I caught a late showing of this film and stayed to watch the whole 177 minutes of it. This is one of them stretched out (to the max) films that emphasized boring scenes for no reason. A snail paced storyline which this turned out to be needs to have a lot of depth and also develop characters properly, sadly this film does not do much of that.
Theres the marriage then the honeymoon then we finally get some action. There is lots of emotions, lots of love on display that I felt it was going off track. There is only so much kissing that can be done on screen to show two characters are together. Thats the one problem with these Twilight flims, its too exclusively focused on Edward (Pattinson) & Bella (Stewart) theres not enough exploration of others.
The fans of Twilight wont find as much fault in this especially the young teenagers. The older generation will see what a cheese fest it is. Theres only little parts that are interesting and engaging. The only thing the director (Condon) manage to get right is the Cinematography. Some of the scenery looked beautiful (especially the wedding), and the most of the effects were also good.
Overall, this is the weakest Twilight yet. The story is not engaging and is badly structured. Too much time spend on the wedding and some of the acting was below par. Only the last 30 minutes of the film is worth watching. With the amount of Vampires & Werewolf's Twilight is known for, this film comes with a NO bite.
With how this Part 1 ended, it leaves the question... Why is there even a Part 2?.
