Sucker Punch is a Action Fantasy Thriller film directed by Zack Snyder (same guy that brought us 300 & Watchmen). This film is about a young girl who gets institutionalized by her abusive stepfather. Her coping strategy is to go into an imaginative world, in there she develops an escape plan from the mental facility. Its Starring Emily Browning, Abbie Cornish, Jena Malone, Vanessa Hudgens, Jamie Chung, Carla Gugino, Jon Hamm, Scott Glenn & Oscar Isaac.
THE REVIEW:
When I saw the trailer for this Movie I was interested to watch it because it looks different to what I had seen lately. Action packed with girls, guns and brilliant battle scenes (What more could a guy ask for).

After watching this film I wasn’t surprised at the full on action displayed, the CGI is heavily used which looks amazing but sometimes felt over used.  There a bunch of beautiful girls in sexy outfits fighting robots, dragons & samurai masters using various types of guns whilst in their imagined world. The fantasy level is over the roof, in a dance our main character Babydoll can make anything in her wildest imaginations becomes possible, Ridiculous? kind of but it added to the films entertainment & fun value. The style and tone is merged well, the director also manages to give it that video game look that worked gracefully (teenagers will love this factor). It also had that modern comic book feel that made it look creative. Snyder paint us a vivid picture on how he thinks these characters would view their imaginary worlds and also he does a fantastic job with the cinematography.

The film doesn’t expect you to over think it and criticize it just wants people to try something new and see how they feel about it. The storyline itself is a little half-hearted and a tad stupid but after seeing all the actions scenes thrown in I don’t think a majority will mind. The escapism is captured very well. It has different meanings that viewers will have to interpret into their own understanding. There is a lot of symbolical music in this film, when watching it was like the music was a key to the path way to the imaginative world these girls enter. The moods are set with specific music played, the music almost becomes a virtual character that nobody can see but everyone can hear & relate to. Great Soundtracks.

Emily Browning plays a beautiful front lady called Babydoll. This character is the pack leader that engages others though the battles, her acting skills was very Applausable. The cast works because of the girls. Sweet Pea, Rocket, Blondie & Amber take us on an entertaining ride.
