SLIDER’S REVIEW:
What a hilarious film this is. The other guys is funny most of the way through. When I saw the trailer for this one I was already laughing so I was really looking forward to watching it.
This is not just another action comedy film, it had a little difference to it. The pairing of the two lead characters Will Ferrell (Allen Gamble) & Mark Wahlberg (Terry Hoitz) was odd. One was really loud and raring for action whilst the other just wants to sit at his desk writing up paper work. Their chemistry on screen was a breath of fresh comedy. It wasn’t just how they said what they said it’s how they said it whilst acting. How we humans perceive things has been rumbled so how things are meant to look is not what we see. The action scenes are racy & exciting.
The script had the good, the bad and the ugly elements. The good was that it was entertaining, the bad being that it ran for too long and felt a little complicated, the ugly is that the actual storyline ran out of steam like 90 minutes into it making me lose a lil interest. When every part of the story is revealed I didn’t think it could get any better than what I had seen already. But not to dampen the spirit of this film, I must say it’s a good watch.
#Director Adam McKay couldn’t get everything perfect.
MY STAR RATINGS OUT OF 5: 4
ONE FAVOURITE MOMENT IN THE FILM:
The scene where Detective Terry Hoitz is in Detective Allen Gamble’s car on a call. A not impressed Terry asks Allen about his new car.
Terry: What the hell is this?
Allen: It’s my car, it’s a Prias.
Terry: I literally feel like literally were driving around in a virgina.
